Focus on the good around you. Say good things to yourself and to others every day.  Grace and patience is a practice. So practice. WeLiz. Image: Mendocino Masks Makers Facebook pageall know everything has changed. Everything in our communities, everyplace we go, everyone around us has seen some impact. To offer a bit of light there are people out there delivering free flowers, making baked goods for neighbors, offering extra health care as volunteers, and many other free or reduced services that make a difference in our lives right now. I want to highlight one of those people, who are always giving, a dear friend of mine Liz Perillat. She is a rockstar! She and two others in our community, Aimee Taylor and Brittany Ramirez, started the Mendocino Masks Makers (MMM) and have put in countless hours into this herculean effort.  This is GRASSROOTS people!   They are making a difference in so many lives for the safety and care of our community. I spoke to Liz today and shared emotional tears. She said “I wanted to do something, I prayed to my Mom and Grandma (who have passed) and asked what to do”.

Britney. Image: Mendocino Masks Makers Facebook pageLiz started making masks and with the support of others they created the MMM.   She started gathering supplies, started coordinating needs in the communities, and started delivering.  Liz said this is a ‘small community pulling together resource’s’. With tons of notetaking from requests via Facebook, her, Aimee, and Brittany discuss the priorities and then DO IT! They have received donations from many including Harmony Fabrics (thank you a million Harmony Susalla), as well as elastic, and other needed supplies.  With a few monetary donations they purchased N95 fabric. Liz has delivered over 1000 masks herself and a few other Mask Makers also have delivered at least half that. Just imagine all these masks made and delivered to the community between Fort Bragg and Sea Ranch. Recipients are Redwood Coast Medical Services,  Fort Bragg Hospital,   Mendocino clinics,  Coast Life Support, Fire departments,  grocery stores, and many others have been blessed with the masks. And on top of that if you receive a mask she throws in a Gazette of which she delivers. More volunteers are needed. If you want to make a monetary donation contact Liz Perilatt for the Redwood Credit Union account info at eperill@gmail.com. You can find them at Facebook  https://www.facebook.com/groups/726774797726939.  Liz, Aimee and Brittany from my heart – thank you for being a BIG part of this community and giving so much.
