Ted Tiller’s melodramatic adaptation of Count Dracula is coming to Russian River Hall, mixing cheeky 1930s flirtation with a sinister Gothic tone. Mark Gregory is a “stunning” Dracula, according to director Nadja Masura. He is able to control mortals with a powerful gaze of authority, keeping the otherwise innocent Mina (Yalana Segal) enthralled.
The classic hero, Jonathan(Peter Rogers), is determined to save his fiancé from the vampire’s fiendish clutches.
This Halloween treat is appropriate for children over ten years of age, and includes clever special effects built into the set design by Jake Hamlin, which “pushes the limits with what we can do on stage” Masura teases. The cast has been using an “inside-out” rehearsal technique, delving for the core feeling of a scene, then working on manifesting it to the audience. The director assures that the ensemble has been “receptive to the method and it’s paying off.”
Curtain Call Theater’s Count Dracula is a diverting theater experience for the whole family. Audience costumes encouraged October 6, 13.
